Archibald Willard Park is located behind the Ellenwood Recreation Center and is one of the larger city parks in Bedford. Inside the park you will find many features.
There is a picnic pavilion that any Bedford resident can use for events. Use of the pavilion is free of charge but you cannot reserve it. It is first come, first serve to the first resident who sets up their event there for the day. The pavilion has many picnic tables and a small park grill.
Inside Archibald Willard Park, you will also find a playground, a sand volleyball court and a baseball field. All of these facilities are open to the public. The baseball field is used by Bedford Baseball League and their use of the field takes priority over the public.
Through the park, there is a lovely walking path that meanders past Bedford City Hall, some wetland ponds, a creek and bridge and then on through the rest of the park. Many Bedford residents use it as a walking shortcut to go between Center Rd and Broadway Rd.
The area has plenty of room for families, children and dogs to play. Dogs are welcome in Archibald Willard Park as long as they remain on a leash and their owners clean up behind them.
